Swirls Cupcakes and Cakes!! They are DELICIOUS!

“Cupcake, Cupcake, Cupcake, OM NOM NOM NOM Cupcake. Cupcake OM NOM NOM NOM NOM” (Lagu Cupcakes)

Hello Everyone,
For the past year, I have been looking for the best cupcake.  I have eaten soooo many cupcakes. Chocolate, vanilla, red velvet and the list goes on and on… LOL.  However, “when you least expect it, that’s when it will happen...” I have to agree with this very statement.  On my visit to the CNE this year, I found Swirls CUPCAKES!!!!!
That Caramel Latte Cupcake was the BEST cupcake I have tasted.  It was so good, that I just had to find the owners of Swirls and tell them.  Katherine and Chuck, I LOVE your cupcakes.  I loved your Cupcake vending machine at the CNE.  I hope, we one day see those vending machines all over Toronto.  I would love to see one at Yorkdale shopping center.  It would make me beyond happy after a day of shopping to get to eat one of your delicious treats.
Swirls, ladies and gents, not only sells cupcakes.  They also bake cookies, cakes, and even make greeting cards. LOL.  Yes, I said greeting cards.  Becky, makes these cards by hand.  Not only does she decorate cakes, she will make you a birthday card too.  It’s a one stop shop. LOL.
I am very impressed with the staff at this quaint bakery.  They were so kind and sweet.  They even made me an LV cupcake! How sweet is that? Thank you, sooooooo much!! I love all my cupcakes.  They gave me Red Velvet, Cookies ‘N Dream, Raspberry Beret, Rocky Road, which is made with Soy Butter, and yes yes they gave me my favorite, Caramel Latte. If you’re having a party or a corporate event, you must have these cupcakes for your guests.  They will make them happy.
I think they make a lot of people happy.  As I was leaving the store, I just happened to speak to a returning customer, Natasha.  I was curious to know what kept her from coming back to Swirls.  It was a pretty quick response, “I LOVE their LEMON LUAU cupcake!” LOL
Boys and girls, go try Swirls! Check out their website www.swirlscupcakes.ca They are delicious and I must add the best priced cupcakes around. They have two locations for your convenience. TRY my favorite cupcake Caramel Latte!!!! YUMMMMMMMMY.
I want to thank everyone at Swirls for showing me around today.  Thank you, Katherine, Tracey and Becky.  I love all my treats. I hope, I can come back soon!!
Until next time boys and girls..”remember, to always just be yourself, it will eventually one day pay off…”

Canadian National Exhibition! THE CNE 2014 is FANTASTIC!

“Let’s go the EX, OHHHHHHHHHHH baby…let’s go to the EX!!” (Theme song of the Canadian National Exhibition)

Hello Everyone,
I think anyone who grew up in Toronto, knows that theme song. LOL.  The Canadian National Exhibition has been a tradition in Toronto for 135 years! (Wikipedia.org) It always occurs 18 days leading up to Canadian Labour Day. This year, I got to go to the “CNE” twice!!!
I have to say both my visits to “The CNE” were exciting, fun and adventurous.  There is so much to do; I had to go at least twice. LOL.  I am here to tell you what I feel is the best of the best at the CNE this year.  Let’s face it, it can be overwhelming and sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin once you walk into the Princess Gates. OK, start at the DIRECT Energy building and head over to the Cupcake Vending machine!! OMG!! I LOVE SWIRLS cupcakes.  I had a Caramel Latte cupcake. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO yummy! They have so many you can choose from, and are so fresh.  Best thing at the CNE this year!!
Now, I have to mention my sweet follower on twitter Stephanie.  Stephanie recommended I try the waffle ice-cream.  Girl, you are right, it was delicious.  So, did I eat both a waffle ice- cream and cupcake in one day? LOL. I kind of did...ha-ha. I actually had the waffle ice-cream both times I attended the CNE.  What can I say? Stephanie was right, waffle ice-cream is a must have.
I did get to watch 2 SHOWS while visiting the EX.  Both shows are amazing. Disco Dogs and Mirage. Yes, I know, Disco Dogs. LOL.  It was such a fun show and if you have kids they will love it.  Music, dogs what else can you ask for? My favorite dog was of course the Italian grey hound. WHOOP WHOOP! Both shows are free with your admission.
Ok, now, that bull…Good grief, I couldn’t even get on top of that thing. LOL.  I know, president Brian of CNE offered to put me on it, but, honestly that bull scared me. However, the Northern Saloon is amazing.  Music, drinks, a great hang out for 19 and over.
GAMES, well, let’s just say I got lucky this year!!! Whohoo. I won about 5 stuffed animals.  I have lucky angels, I guess. LOL. My hello kitty doll was won rolling a dice at the birthday game. You have to play games when visiting the EX, it’s a must try.  OHHH, thank you Peter for making me younger than I really am, and making me win!! Ha-ha.
FOOD, besides the cupcakes and ice cream, I did try the Thanksgiving waffle at Fran’s restaurant. I did go to Frankie Fettuccine during food truck frenzy and get those gnocchi poutine.  I have to say both things are not bad at all. LOL.  If you love turkey and thanksgiving, that waffle is for you.  If you love pasta, meat and cheese, that poutine is for you.
NOW, I saved the best for last…IF you are a hockey fan, go check out the Century Tour. 100 years of Hockey History!!! It’s a Museum on wheels.  OH YAAAAA….hey, they have Mario Lemieux up, they won my heart.  Thank you Charlotte for taking me through your exhibit.
CNE is still open everyone, head down to THE EX!! You have until Sept 1st.  “LET’S GO TO THE EX…. OHHHHH BABY!!!!”
For any info on the CNE, check out their website at www.theex.com

TO Food Fest. Great event. Amazing Food.

“Are you hungry? Yes, I am.  Me too. Let’s eat!!! “(BusSongs.com)

Hello Everyone,

I had the best weekend EVER!! I FOUND THE BEST food and we all know how much this girl loves food!! LOL. I attended the TO Food Fest and with over 40 vendors in attendance, I had all my cravings satisfied.

First, I would like to thank the organizers of this fantastic event for the invite.  I was thrilled and happy to get an opportunity to meet some of them.  I am looking forward to next year already; there are still so many vendors I want to try!! LOL Congratulations, on a great event and for donating to a great organization such as Second Harvest.

The day was perfect.  Hot and sunny and yes, Rob Ford made an appearance.  I just missed him by 5 mins. LOL I’m not sure if that’s good or bad? I just know, that I had some fantastic food from Vegiterra, incredible Lemonade from Lemonade Pros and OH MY GOD, I found EMPANADAS!!! WHOHOOOOOOO! I have to tell you that I have been craving empanadas for months and to see “ANGEL” and Sandra setting up those treats, made me see heaven. Soul 2 Go, really did feed my soul!!!  I tried the beef, pork and chicken.  Guess what? I LOVED THEM ALL!!!! Yum, Yum.

I enjoyed all the food I ate, and I must commend Vegiterra for teaching me about healthy treats.  The Yam burger was delicious.  It was a sweet potato patty with lime leaf, garam masala, and panko breading with green papaya in peanut sauce. I wish I had a bigger appetite; they had so much I wanted to try.  They had crispy sweet potato gnocchi. I regret not trying them.  I hope I see Kristofir and Christopher again soon; those gnocchi are my next treat.

Lemonade Pros thank you for quenching my thirst on that hot day! You have to try their cherry lemonade and orange-aid. Both drinks were so good!! I must mention their lemonade stand; it was honestly the cutest thing ever! Ha-ha

Now, I have been dying to try Penny Lou Treats and Hot Bunzz but I was so full. AHH, maybe, next time but forgive me, I saw Empanadas. It was like seeing my dreams coming true.

It was truly a great food festival and I loved that they had real washrooms and not just porter potties!! LOL.  Great job on the venue and location TO FOOD FEST.  My mom and I both enjoyed our day.  You made a Calabrese woman happy. And for that alone, you deserve great praise!

Looking forward to next year!!! Penny Lou and Hot Bunzz, I’m coming for ya…ha-ha.

Until next time boys and girls, “remember, to always just be yourself, it will eventually one day pay off...”

Toronto Beer Festival !!!!

“Ooohhh, what is the malted liquor, what gets you drunker quicker, what comes in bottles or in cans…. BEER!” (South Park)

Hello Everyone,

On Sunday July 27th 2014, I attended the Toronto Beer Festival. I have to be honest, I am not a beer drinker nor have I ever attended this festival previously.  I am someone however, who will try something at least once. LOL.

I was really excited about going to the festival.  I had an opportunity to meet a lot of incredible people but also I got to try a lot of beer. LOL. Friends, if you love beer, this is the event you should attend.  This festival showcases experts from the brewing industry from around the world. With over 100 brands of beer on site, you can get the party started boys and girls!

I love Somersby Citrus Flavoured Cider!!!!!!! It definitely won my heart at the festival.  I do have to mention the Neal Brothers.  They were kind enough to have samples of their new Kettle Cooked Chips.  Ok, yes; I took some home for my dad to try.  If my father does not complain when he eats something, try it. Neal Brothers, your spicy ketchup flavoured SRIRACHUP cooked chips are a hit.

There was so much to see and do.  I did indulge in some food while at the festival.  I mean, they had so many food vendors, and you all know I LOVE FOOD. Ha-ha.  I’m Italian; I’m allowed to eat a lot. LOL. From Porchetta to Poutine, to Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, this festival had it all.

My favorite part besides the Somersby Cider, and kettle chips was the people.  Everyone was having fun.  It was spring break in Toronto!! So many giveaways. From free beer glasses to hats from Coors and Steam Whistle, to music and yes I saw some people dancing. LOL

Exhibition Place for 3 days was transformed into one big party.  If you have an opportunity, to attend this festival in the future, do it! Make sure, you have an empty tummy.  You will want to try all the food and yes, you will want to drink BEER!!!

It was a day to remember and thank you Les Murray Owner of the Toronto Beer Festival for bringing such a great event to this city.  I feel such privilege to have been invited.
