GO TO JOEYS RESTAURANT!! LOVE THIS PLACE!!

Red, Red wine.  It’s up to you. All I can do, I’ve done. But memories won’t go…. (UB40)

Hello Everyone,

Today’s blog I am going to be talking about something I really LOVE. No no, it’s not about the leafs, but about FOOD!! LOL. I have been to this restaurant on more than one occasion and every time I have gone, I have been happy, happy, happy.

I want to thank JOEYS Yorkdale for always going above and beyond in serving myself and my guests.  Jocelyn, you were a fantastic server and Keenan, thank you for all your lovely words regarding my blog.

On my last visit to the restaurant, Andrew the general manager was kind enough to give me a tour of the establishment.  I was very happy with the whole staff.  Everyone was so friendly.  This place, ladies and gents, has the cleanest kitchen I have ever seen! I feel soooooo safe eating there. LOL.

So, here’s the deal.  I made an agreement with the head chef Brady.  For every read I get on this blog, Brady is giving me 10$. LOL.  Brady, you were a delight.  I love your cooking.  My favorite dishes are the cheeseburger sliders, grilled chicken tagliatelle and wait, wait I LOVE the Italian donuts.  Now, listen up Joeys restaurant.  I found out you removed those donuts from your menu recently, bring them back!! I dream of those donuts!!!  Andrew, please, bring back my donuts!!!!

I was forced to choose another desert the last time I dined at your restaurant. I had the HAPPY ENDING.  From the title guys, I have to say, I did not get a Happy Ending! LOL.  I want my donuts.

I LOVE your restaurant. Thank you so much for the great service and for all your time and kind words.  Thank you, to Sean and my cousin Britney who also were kind enough to take pictures with me during my visit.  EVERYONE if you see Britney at Joeys, she just started there, be nice to her. LOL. She’s my family; we need to take care of each other. : P

Until next time boys and girls. Remember to “always just be yourself; it will eventually pay off…” Go to Joeys restaurant at Yorkdale, you will not be disappointed!!! Make sure you tell them you want those DONUTS back!! Hahaha.

It's TIME TO SAY GOODBYE to Jamaica!!! Miss YOU!!!

“Girl, you’re my angel, you’re my darling angel….closer than my peeps you are to me, baby…”  (Shaggy)

Hello Everyone,

I would like to conclude my Jamaican tales, by saying, I miss Jamaica so much!!  I miss the sun, the music, the people, the food and I miss laughing every day.  It was by far, one of the best vacations and hotels, I have stayed in.

Grand Bahia Principe, had the friendliest staff and every day, I heard “ good morning” in the halls.  I would wake up to the sounds of Bob Marley and Shaggy and I could hear the laughter of everyone who stayed at the resort.

I miss the jerk chicken and yes, I missed the pasta. LOL.  I used to get them to make me agile e oglio pasta at lunch.  They always thought I was crazy asking them to not use sauce and only make my pasta with only oil and garlic.  I have to say that I did miss the fact that in Jamaica, they do not have fresh mushrooms. LOL.  I’m not kidding, they only had canned mushrooms.?!?!! The staff, made me feel special.  All of them went out of their way to give me whatever I needed.  Tanisha girl, I miss you and thank you for ALL the towels!!!!!  You always kept our room so clean and always gave me that great big smile of yours in the morning. I hope, you enjoy the floatie and pink bag I left you girl!! I hope, I will one day come back and visit you soon.

Stretch, “ Mr. Sun Doctor..” Thank you, for the aloe Vera plant and for thinking my friend and I were “tog.” LOL.  The things, you need to do at times when you try and be nice. Ha-ha. Although, hearing “TI AMO” at dinner in Jamaica was insanely weird. As much, as I miss sharing a room with you Vu, I love my bed and the last time someone sang Ti Amo to me, it was really special. LOL.

Runaway Bay, I have very fond memories of my stay.  I enjoyed, the Michael Jackson show, and I LOVED, cocktail nights!!  Did I mention, I LOVED cocktail nights?!? Until, the next time I vacation in Jamaica mon…I will make sure, I do not lose you at night Vu, I will have enough aloe, I will make sure I know all of MJ’s music and I will make sure to see Jesus!! I LOVE JAMAICA mon!!!!!

Until next time boys and girls..” remember, to always just be yourself, it will eventually pay off…”

It's FRIDAY night in JAMAICA!!!

“Don’t worry about a thing, ‘Cause every little thing gonna be all right…’ “(Bob Marley)

Hello Everyone,

We are almost done this vacation and we have not left the resort yet !?! So, guess what my friend and I decided to do on a Friday night in Jamaica mon? We went to dance! LOL.

It is safe to leave the resort in Jamaica, but, in order to do that you need to hire a driver.  The driver will take you wherever you need to go and stay with you on your adventure off the resort. How do you get a driver? We asked our Sun quest representative who hooked us up! LOL.  She arranged for Martin to pick us up from our hotel.

Before going out Fri night, we had dinner at another a la carte restaurant.  We went to Don Pablo.  This restaurant was INCREDIBLE!!! French cuisine was served.  It was by far the best restaurant on the resort.  It is a must TRY!! However, our driver Martin was to arrive and pick us up at 10:30pm and we were a little bit late with dinner.  It’s Jamaica mon, everyone is chilled out!! :p SO, one of us had to go up to the lobby and tell Martin that we were a little behind.  When I say one of us, I mean my friend..LOL. OK, OK, I am bit lazy at times.

Martin, was really cool.  He reminded me of “P. Diddy”. Hahaha.  When we got into the car, the first thing I noticed was the little TV.  Now, I thought it was going to be playing some Bob Marley, maybe, even Shaggy, no no Martin had on porn. Yup, porn with some Jamaican beats. I was trying not to look but my friend kept saying, “ Nik, Look..” Martin decided to tell us that we should go to this club called Shades where a midget has sex on stage. WHAT????!!! OH man, what did we get ourselves into right now!?!  2 hours later, we got to Pier 1.  We stayed about 2 hours, danced, and then proceeded to take the trip back to our hotel.  It was nothing like the clubs in Toronto.

Friday night was FUN FABULOUS !!!

Until next time boys and girls… “ remember, to always just be yourself, it will eventually pay off…” More Jamaica “stories” coming up soon…TO BE CONTIUNED…

Grand Bahia Principe, Jamaica. The pool.

“Mr. Boombastic…What you want is some boombastic romantic fantastic lover….” (Shaggy)

Hello Everyone,

The Grand Bahia Principe has the most amazing pool.  It is the biggest pool, I have ever seen.  It goes around the whole hotel.  The days in Jamaica were spent by the pool, listening to music, having drinks, and my favorite was BINGO. Lol.  Every day, Bingo was played at that pool and every day they gave out prizes to the winner.  In fact, one day the prize was weed. LOL. Yes, you read it correctly; they gave out weed as a prize. WOW mon, Jamaica is nothing like Toronto!! Hahaha

They had so many activities at that pool from water aerobics, to Mr. Jamaica but I will never forget Queen Audrey. Queen Audrey read tea leaves. LOL.  You know, I had to see what this women was all about mon. The queen does readings for 20$ American and I have to say she is very entertaining. Would I recommend a reading? If you want to laugh, yes. LOL.  The queen informed me that a Michael would contact me and not to speak with him. The only Michael I know is dead, and I promise you, I am not speaking with him.  I mean, unless, I learn some “hocus pocus”; Michael is not speaking to me anytime soon. Hahaha. I was also informed that someone who is in love with me, I apparently torture him. LOL. Whoever, you are, I apologize if this is true.  Unless, he brings up the Bruins, I don’t think I torture anyone; at least I don’t do it on purpose. : p

I do have to say that one day; my sister went to get us some KFC.  It is the best chicken I ever tried, mon.  I’m telling you, you have to get KFC when you are in Jamaica.  Little Bianca, who is 18 months, ate that KFC like she never saw food before.  It was finger, licking good. YUMMY!!

I LOVE JAMAICA mon!!!! I cannot wait to go back! WHOOP, WHOOP!!!

Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica

“One Love! What about the one heart? One heart! What about? Let’s get together and feel all right…” (Bob Marley)

COME TO JAMAICA and feel alright….

Hello Everyone!!

WOW.., it feels like it’s been forever since I left Jamaica.  I miss it so much!!  I wanted to share with you all the experience I had at the Grand Bahia Principe.  After, our first night and our amazing New Year’s, we enjoyed another incredible breakfast and sunny day.

My friend at WestJet, Jennifer had given me some amazing tips on the hotel.  She mentioned the jerk shack that was located on the beach.  We ventured out to this shack, and it was really cute.  My only issue was the birds, and the crab that almost followed us back to the room. LOL.  Yes, a crab! I think my friend and I screamed so loud, that Toronto heard the yelling.  The chicken was great and I have to say the hotel has the best ICE TEA EVER!!!

You can have 3 a la carts during your one week stay.  I want to thank the Grand Bahia for giving us 5. LOL.  Our first restaurant was the Mikado, Tapanyaki.  Thank you again, for letting us enjoy this restaurant twice!! This restaurant not only has amazing food but the show the chef gives you is incredible.  I got to eat double the rice, double the chicken and double the beef.  I told you, I LOVE food. Hahaha.  We drank wine, a lot of wine. LOL.  We sang with the group of 12 sitting with us, and we ate like champions.

I was very pleased with our first a la carte experience and I recommend this restaurant and this hotel to you all!!! I will be telling you more of my week at the Grand Bahia in the days to come, so stay tuned…you do NOT want to miss my adventures!!

Until next time boys and girls….” Remember, to always be yourself, it will eventually pay off…” © justbeingmeluvuholts

Jamaica mon. New Year's Eve was incredible!!!!

“Here’s a little song I wrote, you might want to sing it note for note, DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY…"  (Bob Marley)

Hello Everyone,

I am finally going to tell you about my New Year’s in Jamaica!! LOL.  Ok, so, when we landed after that fantastic flight with WESTJET, we needed to board a bus to take us to the resort.  We stayed in Runaway Bay, the Grand Bahia.

It took about an hour and a half to get to the resort.  Yes, that long.  There was no traffic, no lights, and no issues on the roads of Montego Bay.  Our driver decided to make a quick stop at Frank’s Bull.  Apparently, that is the place to go too if you want to see “Jesus”.  I wanted to see the bed at the hotel. LOL.  We arrived safely.  Happy, as can be.

Dec 31st, 2013 started off with sunshine and an amazing breakfast.  I remember, driving my friend crazy, always asking what are we doing tonight? LOL.  “Niki, it's New Year's Eve”.  Oh man, maybe, I saw Jesus.  I think I just kept forgetting I was in paradise.

We had a great time New Year’s Eve.  We all had dinner together at The Grille on the resort.  We drank champagne and wine and I’m pretty sure we had martinis. LOL. I was just happy that 2014 was starting off in the sun and not in the ice storm that was happening in Toronto.  I LOVE JAMAICA mon. hahaha.  I have to say, everyone in Jamaica says mon at least 1000 times a day.  I’m not kidding.

I loved my first day in Jamaica….the week was incredible.  Once, midnight hit and it was 2014, those Jamaicans knew how to party.  We danced in the square and I remember champagne flying in the air.  Listen, I did not get my hair wet and my shoes were good. 2014 started off right mon!!!

I hope you all had a great New Year !! Until, next time, when I tell you guys all the adventures we encountered in Jamaica mon.  (Yes, every time, they say mon. LOL)

Remember, to always... “just be yourself, it will eventually pay off…”

The WESTJET way!!! Come to Jamaica mon !!!!!

" ONE LOVE ! ONE HEART ! Let's get together and feel all right..." ( Bob Marley)

Hello Everyone,

Dec 20th 2013, I called WestJet and spoke with the sweetest, kindest rep ever.  Jennifer Powell was an outstanding representative.  Jennifer gave me so much information regarding the trip I planned to Jamaica that was booked for Dec 30th.  She was friendly and made me proud that I booked with West Jet.  I was already excited about going to Jamaica but after speaking with Jennifer, I knew it was going to be a great time.

The day of Dec 30th, I was greeted by Jocelyn at the West Jet counter who was amazing!!!!  She made me feel special and gave me and my friend the VIP seating.  Susanna, the customer service manager also greeted us and honestly, I felt like a queen.  WESTJET YOU rock!!

Once I boarded, I was greeted by the pilots and my favorite flight attendant EVER!!  Priscilla, my sweet, you were incredible.  Thank you, for the great service.  I loved the tablets that we were given to view movies.  I loved the wine girl, you hooked us up!! I loved all the snacks from cookies, to pringles, to pretzels to sandwiches.  By the way everyone, you have to try their Italian sandwich.  It was delicious, being from an Italian family, we have huge standards.  It was a GOOD sandwich!!  That was the best flight I ever took. LOL.  The turbulence is still on my mind but that wine helped me relax. Hahaha.

Demar who also sat with us, enjoyed his flight.  This boy reminded me of a famous rapper.  You are styling my friend. LOL   I hope that you enjoyed your trip because I have to tell you that our trip started off great with WESTJET.  It set the bar high. : p

Thank you, to the WESTJET team! I love you all!!

Stay tuned everyone; I will be telling you all in the weeks to come about how my week went down in Runaway Bay.

Until next time boys and girls, remember to always be “yourself, it will eventually pay off…” OH YAAA….it did for me BIG time on my vacation!!
